Stay Away !!! Was ripped off here … Charged nearly $700 for a misfire which turned out to be bad fuel and an AC issue that was not fixed at all. Lied to about the AC charge being lost. They sent me a video of the low pressure switch leaking when it is a Schrader Valve type switch. It was loosened to fake a leak. Only item replaced according to the estimate was a Low Pressure Switch for no known reason. Labor for that was $105. I am a retired US Army veteran leaving an honest "These people ripped me off" review online. Stay away or be ripped off. You have all been warned. Wayside cannot and should not be trusted with your vehicle as they WILL LIE TO YOU FOR MONEY. You will regret going there
Although we appreciate all reviews, I’d like to point out a few facts that your have left out of your review. First, the FACT that this vehicle had just been serviced at a “quick lube” in San Antonio and I’m sure you’ll recall that your wife lost her AC within 2 hours of her drive to California. I don't think it's physically possible to "loosen" a pressure switch when the vehicle is hundreds of miles away from us. It is a fact that the part that was installed by your quick lube was defective which caused the freon to leak from your AC system not allowing the air conditioning to work for your wife on her long trip. The video we sent you as a courtesy was to give you vindication of the problem with the AC. Our number one purpose was to make sure that your wife was taken care of so she could focus on your daughter. We made sure that she had a rental car and we gave her priority due to her situation. We serviced your wife’s vehicle only AFTER extensive emails and phone conversations with you and only with an approval from you for the amount discussed, which wound up being less than the amount you approved. As for the performance issue, we discussed the recommendations and after a long phone conversation you opted to go with an additive to TRY and solve the problem. We discussed the importance of the maintenance of the fuel system in detail. In regards to the vent door issue, although I have already sent an email, I apologize for the confusion. Regardless of that, instead of trying to hide anything, I owned up to my mistake and explained in detail where the confusion happened. Integrity and transparency are very important to me in this business. I do realize that you are on the other side of the globe and we appreciate your service. Sir, to state that we “lied” is an exaggeration. To state that we "loosened to fake a leak" is slander. There is a reason that we provide digital inspections with photos and videos. You are a very intelligent man and I am sure that had you thought that we were trying to "rip you off" you would not have had us do any repairs for you. I believe that your concern may stem from the fact that California is more expensive than Texas. I completely get that but you must know that most things in California are more expensive than in Texas. I don't doubt that this repair would have been less in San Antonio. Lastly, I would like to also remind you that a discussion was had in regards to contacting the “quick lube” about having the AC repair warrantied. I also provided your wife with the information needed to do so when she returned to Texas. I don't believe that we would have done so if we were trying to take you for you money and if we truly only wanted to charge you, we would not have given you the 10% military discount for serving your county. It was truly a pleasure making sure your wife was taken care of for her trip back home. She is a very nice woman. Have a great day.
