First let me say the quality of work was great. I have no complaints about that. I would take my car back if I got a written estimate beforehand. The reason I am giving two stars is that when I dropped my car off for what I know and have confirmed with other mechanics was a 2 or 3 hour, 3-400 dollar job, I was told verbally that the job would cost right around 350 dollars by the owner, Sam. I of course said good to go and went along my merry way. The next day, after hearing nothing all day back from them, I called in around 4pm to inquire about the status of the car. I was told that they were just finishing up and the car was being filled with fluid as we spoke and I could come pick it up, but that the job would cost around 700 dollars. I immediately ubered to the shop, where I found the car back in pieces (because the part they had received was bad - not their fault) and I inquired about the price increase and was told they had to buy a specialty part. Since the car wasn't fixed and they still had possession I wasn't about to argue at this point so I left and came back the next day, where I found the price had gone up to almost $850.00! only assume since I was on a roadtrip and needed the car fixed asap and they knew that from the beginning They decided to overcharge me thinking they could get me. I of course had to pay it to get the car, but did inform them I would file a complaint with he Bureau of Automotive Repairs, which I have done. The receptionist/owner got very nasty with me when I challenged the price and called out the false charges and informed her I would be contacting the bureau. I was never given a written estimate (illegal) which can only mean they planned to do this the entire time, knowing I was a stranded motorist. In addition, they never called to ok the more than doubling of the price (also illegal) before continuing to work on the car. Moral of the story is if you are planning to get work done here, they will do a great job, but make sure you have a written estimate first.
Jerad, while we appreciate your kind words about the quality of our work, we find this review extremely frustrating. We did everything in our power to accommodate you and provide excellent service. We prioritized your vehicle's repair over our other customers and our staff worked overtime so you could get back on the road within a reasonable amount of time. We also performed the additional repairs you requested upon dropping off your vehicle. That is why there was an increase in the cost of your service - which you approved. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, feel free to give us a call. Just know that our team bent over backwards to ensure you had a great experience, and we are very proud of the work we provided for you.
