I have used Wayside to do my yearly inspection for the past 2 years without issue. However, recently I had an issue with my turn signals in the front not working properly. I am extremely disappointed with their diagnosis of my issue. They indicated that I had a faulty socket for both my signals. I was under a time crunch as I was moving out of state, so they provided me with a part number so I could order my own part and have my father-in-law do the installation (he is a mechanic). Two things happened: #1 Wayside gave me the wrong part number (thankfully, the parts department at the garage I went to caught the error and found the right one). #2 They improperly diagnosed my issue. My father-in-law noticed right away that the sockets were fine, and saw that there was squirrel feces inside the hood and a squirrel had actually eaten through the cable. Being that there are the ground squirrels all over the area in Monterey, this should have been obvious. I am upset they cost me $200 plus to diagnose this incorrectly and would have charged me over $400 plus to not fix my issue at all. Service: Electrical
Sarah, we're disappointed you chose to write a review on Google prior to calling us directly. We would have been happy to address your concerns and frustrations via phone. While we're very sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with our service, we would like to reiterate several points. First, we have footage of the inspection where our technician clearly addresses the short in the wire and socket assembly - if we gave you the impression it was only the sockets, we apologize. Additionally, Ford gave us the part number directly. We're unsure how it could have been the incorrect part unless there was an error made on Ford's end. If you'd like, we'd be happy to walk you through the diagnostic footage we recorded in order to clarify anything you would like to discuss in more detail. Feel free to reach out to us at any time by calling (831) 899-2425.
