My brake pads were sounding like they were wearing thin so I took my truck to Wayside to have them looked at. They got back to me and told me I needed $1,200.00 worth of work. I told them I wasn’t getting the work done and just wanted my truck back but they refused to give me the keys. They said the truck was unsafe to drive and they would only give the keys to a tow truck driver. I called a tow truck and had it towed to Star Tune in Salinas. They replaced the brake pads and told me everything else was fine. The total charge at Star Tune was under $150.00 In my humble opinion Wayside is operated by crooks.
John, we are deeply sorry to hear you had anything less than a wonderful experience with us. When it came to inspecting your brakes we noticed how much work needed to be done and how many issues there were. We are by law not allowed to let you go without towing you somewhere else to be fixed because of the danger of the state of the brakes.
