My review is not about the employees because they were overall all very professional and friendly. The reason for the one star is because they need to be more transparent when it comes to charges when using a credit card. I utilized the financing option for the tire replacement and diagnostic. Prior to dropping off the car, I asked if they accepted the financing option and I was told yes, but was never told about the extra charge. When I picked up my car on 4/29 I was presented with a grand total of $852. I gave them my credit card and I come to the surprise of being charged a total of $928.61. That is almost $80 extra dollars. When I asked about it in the moment, I was told that it was CFNA financial that charges that. After speaking with CFNA turns out they do not charge that. After calling Wayside garage and speaking with Stacey, she finally clarified that Wayside garage charges that because their credit card machine charges them a processing fee. She seemed more annoyed having to explain to me again, but this time because she had to be transparent about the charge. That is all I had asked for and nowhere in the shop do they have a notice indicating an additional charge is added for credit card charges. I noticed that someone else left a review about the same issue 8 months ago and at that time, they indicated that they were in the process of finding an alternative credit card processor to eliminate that extra charge nonsense. I would think that with their high charges for labor work, that they would have found that credit card processor 8 months later. They should be transparent with that practice. Overall glad that I did not spend close to $3,000 plus on replacing the front struts of my vehicle. I knew something seemed off with being charged more for labor than the actual parts. I ended up taking my car to Newton Bros down the road and got the same job done for $920, used the same financing option there, and no extra charges for doing so. Transparency comes a long way.

Thank you for your feedback Luis. It appears that there is still a misunderstanding in regards to using the CFNA financing. I am not sure why CFNA would tell you that they do not take a percentage of the amount financed because they do in fact take a percentage of the final invoice. It is not the credit card machine that charges. As for our conversation, I apologize if it came off as annoyed, that was not my intention. I thought that I had explained the process in the previous conversations that we had but in reading your feedback, I can see that you are still unclear on how their program works. Moving forward, we will need to decide if we will continue to accept the financing option, which is why I offered to accept an alternative payment for your service and credit back your CFNA total including their fee. I wish you the best and hope that you find what you are looking for.

The best customer service I have had with any auto repair shop. From the second you call the shop, they welcome you to their family. They took the time to listen to my problem, do a very thorough inspection of my vehicle, price out multiple options and courses of action. During the inspection and repair, photos were taken and uploaded so you can see the work being done. When the repair was complete, without asking or expecting, my car was cleaned, tires shined and pulled around to the front for me. Sabrina and Stacey were very helpful, professional, and awesome people to get to know. Being in the military I have lived in Alabama, Kansas, and most recently Alaska. This family owned business is one of the best I have had the pleasure of working with! Services: Wheel alignment, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Carburetor cleaning, Air & cabin filter replacement

Thank you for trusting our family and our team to care for your Ford F150, Chad! It was an absolute pleasure working with you and we're extremely flattered to receive such positive feedback about our customer service, thorough inspections, and detailed repair plans. We hope you'll continue to choose Wayside Garage for as long as you're living in the area!

Alright so I would like to start that they have amazing customer service, which is why I gave them two stars. They were very friendly and nice. However, the niceness does mask their way of making money. I by all means recognize this is a business and they need to make money, but they tried to run me dry. I went in for a brake check and they told me my rotors, my brake pads, and my calipers needed to be replaced...and they quoted me more than 1500 dollars to do all of them. I did not have the money for that so I asked if I could just do brake pads and rotors. They told me no. They said I would lose the warranty and the technician said the calipers needed to be replaced as well because "they were 10 years old". They also tried to up-sell me on a TON of other things. I trusted them because they seemed very nice but I wanted to double check (I am not familiar with brakes on cars and the prices). I went to another very reputable mechanic and they told me that yes, my rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced (my car sat for awhile) but my calipers don't. And guess what...it would cost a little more than $300 to do all of them. I went from $1600+ to $300+ just from going to a different mechanic. The mechanic told me they actually attended a training by Wayside Garage, and Wayside Garage were teaching their employees specific tactics on how to up-sell their customers on things they really do not need. I don't usually leave reviews but wow. I do not know about their other services, but do NOT go here for brakes. I am editing this review as a reply to the owner's reply of this review. They said they recommended calipers only because of the difference levels of wear on the break pads...the thing is, calipers are not the only thing to create uneven wear of breakpads. To find out whether or not the calipers actually need to be replaced you must take the calipers off to check them. There are a couple other things that can cause uneven brake pad wear, including rust. And o boy were my brakes rusty. I left my car sitting for awhile due to a faulty transmission and I did not know about the rust until I took it to the other shop because wayside garage DID NOT tell me about allllllll the rust that was coating my brakes. Now, I should have looked, that was not good on my part, but when they called me to tell me how much my bill was going to be they did not say a single thing about HOW rusted my rotors and brake pads were which can definitely make the brake pads unevenly wear. I also know for a fact they did not take a part my breaks because I did the brakes myself and everything was still extremely rusted together... The other shop was nice enough to tell me there was a bunch of rust on my car....Wayside Garage would rather leave that information out so they can just tell me my calipers needed to be replaced. Service: Brakes

Thank you Noah for sharing your feedback. We appreciate and take into consideration all reviews. In regards to your brake repair, specifically the brake calipers, the reason your calipers are needed are due to the fact that your brakes are wearing unevenly. In looking at the brake pad and brake rotor measurements, you can see that one side is wearing substantially more than the other indicating a sticking caliper. As for the other shops' comments, they are nothing more than gossip. We only recommend repairs based on safety first and the longevity of your vehicle second (maintenance). We also use only quality parts. I am sure we could have provided you with an estimate for less using substandard parts, but that would have been a disservice to you. We are here for you if you decide you would like us to care for your Ford Focus in the future.
